Microphone not detected (HyperX Cloud Stinger)So from what it looks like, no one seems to have the same problem as me. I just got the HyperX Cloud stinger headset, but my laptop does not seem to pick up the microphone at all, the weird thing is, the sound in my headphones work just fine, it's just themicrophone that's not detected, and I've tried everything to find it.I only have one jack in my laptop, for both mic and sound, so I can't use the splitter that came with the headset, but the headset should function fine without it, and it worked on my ps4 with the mic, just not on my laptop.I have tried EVERYTHING, believe me.
From going into sound showing disabled devices, (where no, it does not pop up) To trying to update my drivers (Nothing to update) And uninstalling, and installing it again.I have no idea why it won't register the mic at all, and I don't know if it's because I need to use to splitter for it to work. It's just weird since the mic, and headphones work with just the one jack when connecting to my ps4.Thank you for your help.

That's exactly what we were looking at in the past days, but didn't want to make an official statement about until we confirm it's stable. We've even suggested to a couple of users in this thread to try downgrading to pre-1809, or one of the early cumulative updates that came after 1809 was released, but those users never got back to us.To give you, and everyone else here, a better idea on why we think this could potentially be a Windows update issue:OS Build 17763.316 came out on February 12th - With this update rolling out, there's been some reports of system crashes, but not enough to make one think that it's something major. As days went by, we've started noticing more complaints in this thread and started collecting system details and Event Viewer logs from all of you in order to determine what might be causing the issue.
Once we've built up over 20 solid cases, the issue has been escalated with our engineering team that started looking into the issue and even set up a number of test benches in our lab to try and replicate the issue. In the meantime, OS Build 17763.348 came out on March 1st and Microsoft added a note to it stating the following:. After installing this update on machines that have multiple audio devices, applications that provide advanced options for internal or external audio output devices may stop working unexpectedly. This issue occurs for users that select an audio output device different from the “Default Audio Device”. Examples of applications that may stop working include:Windows Media PlayerRealtek HD Audio ManagerSound Blaster Control PanelNOW, the best part about it that gives us hope:D!A few of days ago, they've rolled out a new cumulative update which apparently addressed that issue.
Hyperx Cloud 2 Driver Error
The update went live on April 2nd, and if you still haven't received it through your Windows Automatic Update, you can download it manually from the Microsoft Support page at (. We're still testing our systems with this build, and weren't able to replicate the system crashing issue that all of you had been experiencing. If any of you decide to install this update, please get back to us with your results either by commenting here, or sending us a PM!:). I did some more testing and found a reliable way to trigger this issue even if I uninstall all of the updates. And unfortunately upgrading to Windows 10 version 1903 doesn't fix the problem either. Set the headset as the current audio device. Press the reset button on your PC (instant dirty reboot).
Login to Windows, open up your browser and play a YouTube video. Give it a minute and then look at device manager and you should see that 'HID-compliant headset' has crashedDoing this might not trigger the exact same bug, but the headset shouldn't be crashing this way either. So, setting it as the current (default) audio device is exactly what causes the system to crashI just this minute checked to see if I actually need to set the headset as the current device and it turns out that I don't.Literally all I need to do to trigger the bug is to press my desktops reset button, log back into Windows and then play some audio (I used YouTube on Firefox).

After a minute if I check device manager then I'll see that 'HID-compliant headset' has crashed. This crash occurs randomly too. Like I might think that an updates fixed it, but then then 2-3 days later it might crash again. But by repeating the above steps I can reliably get it to crash within 60 seconds. That quite an interesting issue that we haven't seen people experiencing so far, but we would love to look into and find a solution for you guys!, and - please PM us the following:Your PC specs (using the same format as did above)Nvidia driver version that you're usingWindows version (run System Information and write down the OS Name/Version lines),Model/Product numbers of your headset (located underneath the headband)As soon as we get those, we'll get back to you with more info.;). The HyperX Cloud 2 has a cool and clean looking design, as is the case for almost any HyperX headset. There are two different design options available for the Cloud 2. The first is one has a color palette that consists of black and red. The second option available is in black and silver. Both versions will be mainly black while the HyperX logo and the aluminum frame are in red or silver. Both options look good but I personally prefer the black and red version since this brings out a bit more color. Words that end in wady.
The Cloud 2 is easily one of the most comfortable gaming headsets that we have come across. The pressure spreads perfectly even on the side of your head and around your ears. It does have a firm grip but you should still only us it for casual gaming and listening to music (no headbanging!).
Both the ear cups and the headband come with a healthy amount of padding inside of them. The memory foam padding feels soft and cozy. The ear cups are over-ear-cups. They are big enough to cover most standard ear sizes.

You can slightly turn them so that you can find the perfect fit for you. The headband is, of course, adjustable as well. The USB controller is amazing on the Cloud 2.
It has separate volume controls for the microphone and for the headset. Very easy to adjust the volume when other gamers are complaining about your microphone being too loud. Between the volume button sits the button to activate the virtual 7.1 surround sound. Finally yet importantly, on the side of the controller, you can find the mute button. The 3.5 mm audio jack plugs directly into the USB controller that in turn plugs into a USB port.
You can, of course, skip the USB controller and use the 3.5 mm audio jack directly into a console controller or smartphone.
